OFFICE DESIGN THAT BRINGS FLEXIBILITY
Nine to Five reimagines the contemporary workplace for a migration law firm in Melbourne’s north, responding to changing modes of work with a flexible, human-centered interior. The refit balances private, focused work with collaborative spaces, creating an environment that adapts over time and supports wellbeing, productivity and choice.
Shaped by post–Covid insights, the design bridges the comfort of home with the professionalism of the office, softening traditional workplace constraints. Client experience sits at the heart of the project. Serving diverse communities, including young families and intergenerational groups, the office features a family-friendly meeting room with relaxed seating, generous circulation and natural light, fostering calm and inclusivity.
Accessibility was embedded from the outset, with braille site maps, fully accessible circulation, sensory-aware quiet spaces and adjustable lighting ensuring long-term usability for a broad range of needs.
Sustainability underpins every decision. Awarded first place in Cultivated’s sustainability competition, the project celebrates durable, thoughtfully sourced furniture, spatial flexibility and a reduced reliance on disposable design.
